Here is is at the 1999 IH Scout Nationals

Here it is on the side of the road waiting for me to bring
back a Christmas Tree.

This is right after I fitted all the new body parts.

Here is the 1999 Chicago Blizzard.. Or a few weeks after I should say.
The rear quarters are starting to rust. I really
needed paint here.

Status Reports
 | 10/29/99 - Long time since I updated anything
here. The Scout is Painted, Installed New Seats, Installed rear SS][
Tailgate Insert, Installed Fiberglass Fender Flares, and a ton of other
stuff. I will update it as soon as I can. |
 | 03/02/99 - Still nothing.. I have gotten a Straight
Steer, New SSII Door hardware, Rancho Steering Stabilizer, and a Borgson
Steering U-Joint. But I haven't put anything on. |
 | 02/15/99 - Still no new Scout... I am really
really waiting for another Scout. I want something with a 345
that I can work on and also a body that I can work with and paint yet
still drive mine around. |
 | 01/07/99 - Still waiting to get my new Scout.
Weather is not being nice to me. Well.. to be exact, the worse
blizzard in 30 years. Anyway the Scout is performing well
in the cold and snow. The new Locking hubs are great, never
again to use the "Auto's". I just had no luck with making
those last. |
 | 12/21/98 - I found a parts Scout on the internet
and have been talking to the guy. It's a 74 Scout ][ with a rebuilt
trans. when he bought it and he had the motor rebuilt just recently
(Under 10 miles on it.) So I found me a 345 and hopefully if all
goes well I can drive down south from me a few hours and drive it back.
Next up I really need a garage now. |
 | 12/12/98 - Well took out the D300, the front
output shaft had way to much play in it. Found out the people
that rebuilt it a year or so ago (When I got the Trans done.)
had put RTV all over the metal shims.. So anyway... Re shimmed it put
all new seals in and slapped it back on. I see a slight leak still
and I think I need some of those "Redi-Seals". Apart
from that it's seem ok. Well Except for the Slip Yoke on the
Front drive shaft.. that too has a bit too much movement in it. So that
will have to be looked at soon. |
